Bottles and Friends Head to Antioch for Terrific Show
Friday and Saturday March 12 and 13th 2013 turned out to be a great one for bottle collectors out west. Gary Antone and his wife Darla, did most of the organizing and it was very well prepared. With a barbecue and drinks on hand, a fun group of collectors, dealers and guests enjoyed two days of buying, selling and checking out loads of great bottles and a bevy of other items. Dennis Fox and I drove down Friday to check out the action and ended up picking a few nice things including a GI-80 Lafayette flask and a few other nick knacks. Taking the river road back was a pleasant drive and weather wise it couldn’t have been a nicer day.
We saw some terrific items including a beautiful green Nelson’s barrel some great western flasks, pickles to die for and a load of different bottles from both east and west. Along with bottles were insulators, old beer cans, lures of all things, shot glasses, back bars and lots more, bottles were available in every color and size. All in all in was a wonderful day and another successful show for the Antone’s and the Golden Gate Historical Bottle Show.
