Rare Schnapp’s Turns Up on Ebay

For Tom Doligale just a new color or slight variant example of the Udolpho Wolfe’s to add to his collection is an event. What he recently purchased on Ebay must have been a life changing experience for him, and the many people who treasure these multi-colored, often very crude schnapps. What Tom found was possibly the only known example of an Udolpho Wolfe’s Aromatic Schnapps in a quart size with the words “NI” embossed on the bottle. Tom said he’s seen a green pint, which is still very rare, but this one is beyond words. ” I have collected these for 20 years and have never seen this or anything even close,” Tom says. “Yes, there are the NI green pints with the NI on the Schiedam panel, but this NI on the amber quart, Aromatic Schnapps panel is unique. Only one known…as of yet??!! The fact that it’s a rare bottle and possibly unique is one thing. However it goes beyond that as if you look at the pictures, it is a gorgeous amber with about as much whittle as you can fit on a bottle, quite a looker. So for Tom, he’s found the Holy Grail and I don’t think it’s going anywhere soon. No doubt it won’t be the last Wolfe’s Schnapp’s Tom will add to his vast collection either. Congratulation Tom on a very beautiful find.

At the risk of being exposed as a non-expert, what does the NI stand for?

We are still scratching our heads on that one. It looks like it’s backwards so at this point it could be IN or an error by the mold maker. We’re open to suggestions. No question is a silly one. Only the questions that aren’t asked.

As Schiedam is in the Netherlands, I’m guessing it is actually N L

Your assumption seems to be correct that the “NI” is actually in reverse. Notice the period in front of the “N” In reverse it would read IN.

Also the space between the word SCHNAPPS and the .NI is not correct. I would assume that it would actually read:

SCHNAPPS. NI if this was the correct sequence, But…

    SCHNAPPS .NI does not equate.

I agree…The bottle is a mistake and should read

    SCHNAPPS IN.

    Great Bottle….Love IT.

I have a Udolpho Wolfe bottle with Schiedam and Aromatic Schnapps on it also. My daughter found it at a beach in Brownsville, TX approx 53 years ago. It was filled with white sand which I dumped. It is solid dark brown and the letters are embossed. It is 8-1/2″ and in perfect shape. What would be it’s value? Thanks, Pris

I’m Looking for rare black or white antique Schnapps bottles to buy. It’s very solid, either black or white in color with it’s letters embossed and has either one or two elephants, birds, river goddess, stars, male portrait pictures etc on it’s shoulders. There’s a whole under it as well and it must have magnetic attraction that can attract metals. If anyone has any for sale it’s worth thousand of dollars so please contact me on [email protected]. for a good deal.

This is a comment to the webmaster. Your website:Rare Schnapp’s Turns Up on Ebay | American Bottle Auctions is missing out on at least 300 visitors per day. I came to this page via Google but it was difficult to find as you were not on the first page of search results. I have found a website which offers to dramatically increase your traffic to your site: http://voxseo.com/traffic/. I managed to get over 10,000 visitors per month using their services, you could also get lot more targeted traffic than you have now. Hope this helps :) Take care.

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However just imagine if you added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this website could undeniably be one of the best in its niche. Very good blog!

I have a Udolpho Wolfe’s Aromatic Schnapps bottle. I can’t say if it’s brown or amber. It has a very lightly embossed clover and a heavily embossed cross with a base (or stand)on the concave bottom. The glass has some bubbles and straw marks as well as circular marks near the base.
    I would appreciate any information.
    Thank you.

    Hi Jeff
Wow! Great writing bro. Super blog. What is the going rate for a Wolfes Schnapps with the bell on the front?
I know I am a bit late to be asking, but one has come up and I need to know where.to put it price wise.
Thanks again, is there a standard reference book on Wolfes or will you be writing one? I would consider
    paying heavily for one.
    Sincerely, Tim Hercenberg

Without seeing it, I would value it at around $100+. If it has the original labels that would also help. Color is king.
