Hi, I’m wondering if anyone out there would be interested or know whom I should contact regarding the sale of a large selection of old bottles in my possession. I bought the contents of an old bottle store in Southern Ireland that was established circa 1860. I think I have 20,000 bottles ranging in color, shape and size. Many are original Guinness pint and half pint bottles. They are in excellent condition and most are in their original wooden crates. Any help would be appreciated. Send me and email to [email protected] Thanks

BASE EMBOSSING ON COKE BOTTLES.  Hi everyone; I thought that base embossing on Coke bottles was something that was done back in the 1950's, or if done now, to commemorate a special event, like Hot August Nights, for example.  I found a  base embossed Coke:  DEATH VALLEY CA, but it isn't really an old bottle.  It is  the green 8 ounce, standard shape,  it has a UPC label, (04918202), refund info: (CA CASH REFUND, OR-5 CENT REFUND), towards the base on one side (NO REFILL), the other side (PLEASE RECYCLE), ink jet printing on neck (1448 , JAN28019DE), mid way towards base there is a small  3 triangle diagram with 00 on one side of it and 18 on the other side of it. I would greatly appreciate any and all information  available on this issue, and, is this base embossing still done for cities in CA?? Please respond either here on this forum or to me directly at [email protected].  Thanks, Andy.

I collect American embossed Poison bottles. I live in Orange, California. The bottles that are my passion are embossed with the word poison somewhere on the bottle, many times twice. Another version are bottles with the Druggists name such as ,Sun Drug, Bowman Drug, Owl Drug, Turlock Drug, Demert Drug, and Bews Drug along with many other druggists names. They come in clear, cobalt, amber, emerald green, olive green and several other colors. I also am always looking for insect powder bottles, which come in shapes like minature four inch beer bottles. They have embossed names usually on the shoulder like, Lyons Powder,Drakes, Reynards, Persian,John Henry, Pooles, Issaccsens,Scherwins,Costars,J.Engels, and Knowels. They come in many colors , yellow, cobalt, amber, several shades of green, several tones of puce, aqua, and clear. They also come with pontiled bottoms and smooth bottoms. If any of you kind people have any of these bottles or bottles that sound similar I'd like to talk to you about buying them for a very fair price. Steve Sacks,P.O. Box 2032, Orange, Calif., 92859, 714-538-2981, or [email protected]. Thank You.
